# Preferences and troubleshooting

Open **Preferences** with the gear button. Source-specific processing lives in the sliders beside the source selector; individual scope settings live in each scope's ellipsis menu.

## Performance and appearance

| Preference | When to use it |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Keep Screen Awake | Keep the display awake while OmniScope is active |
| Show Battery Percentage | Show the iPad's charge percentage and charging state in the toolbar. The icon turns green when charging or full, yellow in Low Power Mode and red at 20% or below. It does not report an external battery or USB power delivery |
| Monitoring Frame Rate | Choose 15, 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps; lower values reduce scope processing and display work, without changing input capture or audio timing. The display refresh rate can affect how evenly 25 or 50 fps is presented |
| Limit Input to 1080p | Reduce processing load when full input resolution is unnecessary |
| Optimize Scope Resolution | Render scopes at 75% resolution to reduce GPU work |
| Global Brightness | Adjust scope brightness |
| Grid Color | Change the color of scope grid lines |
| Show Scope Warnings | Show scope warnings |

Preferences also holds **Double-Tap Scope** (see [Workspace and gestures](/nobe-omniscope-for-ipad/workspace.md#touch-controls)), the **Hardware Keyboard** shortcut reference and **Source Preview** for HDR sources (see [Color management and HDR](/nobe-omniscope-for-ipad/color-and-hdr.md#raw-sdr-and-hdr-source-preview)).

### Soft or coarse scope traces

Turn off **Optimize Scope Resolution** and check **Limit Input to 1080p** and **Input Frame Scale**. Expand the scope to inspect it at a larger size. For Waveform, also compare trace smoothing and low-pass filtering settings. A higher-resolution analysis view can require more GPU work and battery power.

### Scopes do not align with their panels

Older beta builds had a scaling mismatch with iPadOS Display Zoom set to **More Space**. Use the newest beta that includes the display-scaling fix. If you still see it, report your iPad model, Display Zoom setting, orientation and a full-screen screenshot. Switching Display Zoom to **Default** is a workaround for affected builds.

### NDI or desktop pairing cannot find a device

Check OmniScope's local-network permission, use the same local network on both devices, and avoid guest/client-isolated networks. Check that NDI discovery is enabled when looking for NDI sources. For SRT, verify that the desktop is streaming and the selected address belongs to the network the iPad can reach.

### SRT pairs but no video appears

Discovery confirms that the iPad is advertised on the network; it does not confirm that the SRT stream is connected or decoding.

In builds with connection reporting, open **Sources → SRT → Connection Report**, or the same link under **Connect to OmniScope Desktop**. Choose **Share Report** or **Copy Report** after reproducing the problem. The report is also available in Diagnostics after disconnecting.

The report includes the app/build, iPadOS version, connection mode, address, port, latency, recent connection stages, error codes and detected video format. It distinguishes input-opening failures from stream detection, decoding and display-conversion failures. Pairing keys, passphrases and stream IDs are excluded; network addresses are included.

Send the report with the desktop version and the type of source being sent. This helps identify where the connection stops without assuming that every failure is caused by the network.

### SeeMo connects without video

Check SeeMo power, HDMI signal and USB connection. If Accsoon's app takes over after reconnection, dismiss its prompt and return to OmniScope. Select **HDMI Capture → Accsoon SeeMo** again and keep OmniScope in the foreground. Compare with Accsoon's app separately to confirm the HDMI path, then close its monitoring session before returning to OmniScope.

If the picture alternates between sharp frames and moving-block artifacts, include a short recording, HDMI resolution/frame rate, SeeMo model and OmniScope build number in the report.

### Picture looks stretched, cropped or unexpectedly dark

Reset viewer zoom and pan first. Then review **Reset Input Crop**, input **Aspect Ratio**, input LUT and Camera Color Management. For HDR, check the received transfer function and **Raw / SDR / HDR** preview selection. Display settings and preview transforms can change appearance without being a capture fault.

### No speaker button or no sound

Check whether incoming audio channels are present. Enable camera microphone capture if that is the intended source. SeeMo audio must be mono or stereo AAC. For files, check **Mute Playback**. For available audio, enable **Monitor Audio** and check the iPad's output route and volume.

## Reset settings

**Reset to Factory Defaults** restores preferences, scope settings, saved layouts, input settings, masks and color pins. After confirmation, it opens Color Bars in the default layout. Imported media, LUT files and subscriptions are kept. Save any information you need about custom layouts before resetting.

## Report a beta issue

Send feedback through TestFlight or your beta discussion channel. Include:

* OmniScope version and build from the **PRO/DEMO → About** area.
* iPad model, iPadOS version and Display Zoom setting.
* Input type, sender/capture device, resolution and frame rate.
* Relevant color, range, crop and preview settings.
* Steps to reproduce, plus whether rotation, reconnection or a layout change triggers it.
* A screenshot or short recording. Hide pairing codes and private source material.

State whether the problem also occurs with Color Bars or a local image. This helps separate source-specific failures from scope or workspace behavior.
