# Input sources

Tap the source selector at the top left to open **Choose Source**. One input feeds all scope cells. Multiple copies of a scope analyze that same input with their own display settings.

Enable **Auto-connect** in the source picker to restore the last selected input the next time OmniScope launches, when that source is available. Disconnecting the input forgets it. Connection credentials needed for supported network sources are stored in Keychain while Auto-connect is enabled.

## Available inputs

**ScreenPort is excluded from the distributed beta.** Its presence in older development notes does not mean it is available in your TestFlight build.

## Images and video files

Choose the file in the system picker. Files stored in iCloud may need to download before they can open. The app imports a local copy.

For video, open **Video Playback** in input settings to play or pause, seek, return to the start, toggle **Loop Video**, or **Mute Playback**. Muting playback does not disable audio metering. Playback pauses when OmniScope goes into the background.

File decoding uses iPadOS media support. A file extension alone does not establish compatibility: the container, codec, profile and device all matter. If a file will not open, try a compatible MOV or MP4 export. Preserve bit depth and HDR metadata when preparing an HDR test file; changing containers is preferable to re-encoding when the video codec is already supported.

## Cameras and USB capture

Connect the device, then reopen the source picker and select it under **Cameras**. Availability and capture formats depend on the device and iPadOS. OmniScope can open a supported format when 1080p is unavailable, so check the reported resolution and input frame rate for the actual connection. Do not assume that a USB-C connector guarantees 10-bit or 4:2:2 capture.

If USB capture is interrupted or stops delivering frames, OmniScope retries automatically, including after reconnecting a capture device. Keep the app in the foreground while the input recovers.

With a built-in camera, use the microphone button to enable audio capture. See [Audio](/nobe-omniscope-for-ipad/audio.md) for monitoring.

## NDI

Put the sender and iPad on the same local network and allow local-network access. Select the sender under **Network**. If it is missing, use **Refresh** and check that **Disable NDI Discovery** is off in Preferences.

Guest Wi-Fi, client isolation or network filtering can prevent discovery even when both devices have internet access. Received format and audio availability depend on the sender and the NDI support included in the beta build.

Current beta builds accept NDI video up to 4096 × 4096, including square VR feeds. When a connected sender is paused, OmniScope keeps the last frame visible without dimming. Brief connection-status interruptions also retain the picture; a sustained disconnect still shows **No Signal**.

## Accsoon SeeMo

1. Power SeeMo and connect an active HDMI source.
2. Connect SeeMo to the iPad using the appropriate USB cable.
3. If Accsoon's app launches, dismiss its monitoring prompt and return to OmniScope.
4. Open **Choose Source → HDMI Capture → Accsoon SeeMo** and keep OmniScope visible.

The original SeeMo (UIT02) has been tested with a 1920 × 1080, 50 fps signal. That test does not qualify every SeeMo model or HDMI format. Supported mono or stereo AAC audio appears in the input meter and audio scopes and can be monitored through the iPad's current output route. Other audio formats are not supported. The integration does not provide a selectable HEVC or 10-bit capture mode.

If the source entry is absent, check that your installed beta includes SeeMo. If it connects without a picture, see [troubleshooting](/nobe-omniscope-for-ipad/troubleshooting.md).

## Input settings

Use the sliders beside the source selector for signal scale, legal-range guides and input resolution. **Input LUT** opens LUT controls; **More Input Settings** contains aspect ratio and camera-color controls. Settings are remembered per source, including imported files.

The input aspect ratio crops the picture while preserving proportions. [Viewer zoom](/nobe-omniscope-for-ipad/workspace.md#zoom-pan-and-input-crop) is separate from cropping the input for analysis.
